George William Griggs, Jr. and Keren Happuch Cramer

Introduction

George William Griggs, Jr. was the fifth of nine children of George William and Mary Griggs, of Oakville, Ontario, Canada and a descendant of John Griggs who was a landowner in Gravesend, Kings County, New York and who had a land transaction there as early as 1659. George, Jr.'s father, George William Griggs, and his father's brother Barnet Griggs emigrated from New Jersey to the Gore District in Ontario, Canada with a group of Loyalist friends in about 1811.
